The “Team” has just completed Issue #144, and as always, I would
like to thank Lynn (Graphic Design), Marion (Editor), Bernadette (Website),
our writers, Molly, Victoria, Thom, Casey, Jim, Christine and Carlos . Thanks
to our editorial columnists, Jim, Jorge, Dave, Peter, Nikolai, Janeen, Alex,
Roxee, Rosanne, Brad, Thorin, and Marion. Cheers to The Sports Panel: Peter,
Jake, and Jim. Appreciation goes out to our neighbourly advice columnists
Brian, Mike, and Max, our crossword puzzle writer Doug, as well as our
distribution manager, Pat, our ad salesman, Gord, our distribution locations,
our advertisers, and of course the people who are featured in our stories. I hope
you enjoy # 144.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the people in all area’s of conflict
in the world.
So, another disappointing finish to Team Canada at the world juniors.
I don’t blame the players, I blame the incompetence of Hockey Canada. Very
poor planning on their part. I think they left out some top players and I am not
a fan of their coach selection.
Speaking of Hockey Canada and their incompetence, I think they
were involved in this “rubbish” we are faced with starting January. I have
never seen so many rules and guidelines to throw a bag of trash out. The
cost of clear and compostable bags is quite significant compared to regular

bags. The cost of the green bins is also quite significant, and I’m sure once
the collection team start throwing them around, the top’s will break, and the Sports

neighborhood raccoons and rodents will enjoy a feast every week. I have got
a call in to Hockey Canada to see if throwing something in the wrong bin will Energy Ne ws
be a minor or major penalty.
