Fishin’ with Colton Gallant
By Molly Kett
4-year-old Colton Gallant is from
2Alexandria, Ontario. He is a
Special Constable with the Cornwall
Police Service and an avid fisherman.
This year, Gallant was lucky to
be able to spend some time with his
father out on the water fishing. During
these times of uncertainty, moments
like these are extra meaningful.
“My dad, Myles and I bought
fishing kayaks at the start of the
season. I’ve really enjoyed being able
to spend some quality time with him
and bond over something we are both
very passionate about,” says Gallant.
“I also love how peaceful it is out on
the water, especially while in the midst
of a pandemic. It’s nice being able to
just disconnect from the craziness of
it all and enjoy something simple.”
Gallant remembers his love for
fishing starting at a very young age.
“I remember when I was really
young, maybe 5 or 6 years old, going
fishing with my dad off the shore at
Kenyon Dam,” says Gallant. “I can’t Photo Submitted
