“Game On” in South Glengarry
Meet our Athletes

“I’ve been practicing hockey since I was 3 years old,
so that’s about six years now,” says Sports Energy’s
first Game On athlete of 2025, Rowan Jarvo. “I love
that hockey is a team sport, because to win you have
to rely on each other. It’s so fun making new friends
and hearing all the funny locker room chatter. I do love
scoring, too. I also really enjoy playing on my outdoor
rink all winter long. It’s the best way to practice and
have fun!”
This young center’s sports goals are to keep playing
competitive hockey and, hopefully, one day make it to the NHL. “That’s my big dream,”
Rowan admits. “I’m also working on getting faster and improving my puck handling skills
so I can be the best I can be on the ice. I’d like to work on my leadership skills,” he adds, “so
I can be a better teammate and help my team both on and off the ice.”
If making it to the Big Show doesn’t pan out, Rowan plans on owning a sports store, or
maybe getting into sports broadcasting. “I’m still young,” he says, “but eventually, I plan to
go to college or university to keep learning and play hockey at a higher level.”
Finally, this young athlete’s notable accomplishments include playing for the U11 Charlan
Rebels REP team, winning a “Most Dedicated Player” award, finishing 5th in the Iona
Academy Cross Country Run, finishing top in his class for the beep test, playing for the
SVSC Blazers, and maintaining good grades in school.
