FL Arena. Colorado however moved ahead, dug their heels in, and signed Artturi Lehkonen for a second-round pick and a prospect
from the Montreal Canadiens. Lehkonen’s style of play fits right in with Colorado; his addition along with Josh Manson and Andrew
Cogliano adds impressive depth to the team’s elite line-up of talent.

Peter Collins - Sports Enthusiast - Every year, the NHL trade deadline arrives with much fanfare, and usually it disappoints because
of the lack of big deals from the participating teams. There are three types of teams this annual auction for a chance to improve their

Stanley Cup odds. Some teams are aggressive, mortgaging the future for a shot at the NHL’s supreme prize. Others realize they’re out

of the race and trade some of their assets for the promise of potential. Then there are the middling teams that sit in mediocrity and never

do much to change the status of their team.
This year, the clear winner of the trade deadline is the Panthers from Florida. They went big-game hunting and landed defenseman Ben Chairot and
forward Claude Giroux to augment their already strong team. However, if they lose in the first round to an Atlantic Division opponent, these will have

been wasted moves. They’ll likely have to beat Tampa and/or Toronto to make it to the conference finals and that’s not an easy task.

Canadian contenders Calgary also improved their team with well thought out moves to strengthen their roster and improve their chances at the Western

Conference Title. Toronto and Edmonton didn’t solve their goaltending woes, so they potentially face early elimination from the playoffs. As usual,
Tampa Bay made some minor moves to improve their chances for a 3-peat as Stanley Cup Champions. Other than that, the Rangers added speed and
grit up front to compliment their outstanding young team. As well, Colorado added some depth, but the path through the Western Conference is still a

So, if I had to pick one winner, it would be the Panthers; but unfortunately for them, they may still only be the second-best team in the state of Florida!

Jim Riddell - Seaway Karate Club - Martin St. Louis as Habs Head Coach
Trade Deadline Day is usually one of the most exciting days of the NHL season with the deals usually starting early and continuing right
up until the 3PM deadline. A strong case could be made for several teams as to which one came out on top this year. Colorado added
Stories And More About The People In Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry
some needed depth by acquiring Josh Manson, Arthurian Lehkonen, and Andrew Cogliano. The Florida Panthers are now all-in with
the addition of Claude Giroux, Ben Chiarot, and Robert Hagg. The Tampa Bay Lightning was the team that probably did the best at
addressing their needs for a run at the Cup - Brandon Hagel is young, can score goals, kill penalties, and is still an RFA when his contract
ends. Riley Nash adds more depth to the forward group. Nick Paul is superb defensively, can contribute offensively, and is very versatile, having the
ability to play up and down the lineup. These moves put the Lightning in a position to become the first NHL team in almost 40 yrs. to win 3 consecutive
Stanley Cups. As for surprise player movement, it certainly doesn’t impact the playoffs, but there seems to be little justification in the Ottawa Senators
giving up a 3rd round pick for Travis Hamonic.
